The Old Willis Place

Diana and George are kid ghosts that had been wandered around the old forest a long time, waiting for one day they would rest in peace.They have very strict rule that they have to follow, so they never can't show anyone their face. They live freely on their own, until a new car taker came with a girl name Lissa, and the door in Old Willis house is open. They decided to break the rule and it came with a consequences.

A deep and dark forest lead into a abandon farm and the haunted Old Willis Place.
Old Willis Place- A big house with expensive antipue design, but now crack down with spider webs and cats' litter.

I adore this novel, it's so scary and also it's give me a lot of emotion.Scare when something dangerous happen, happy when Lissa and Diana have fun, kind of mad when George fight against Lissa, and sad when Diana and George think about their past. I regconized this novel to everyone, it's going to be a great experience.

The Doll in the Garden

Ashley and her Mom just moved into a new house that is owned by a grumpy women Ms.Cooper. It was not very fun, but the life is normal, until Ashley and Kristie(a neighbor friend) found a doll in the garden. They decided to keep the doll and make it theirs own. But the old owner wants it back, eventhough she was dead before they even were born.

Ashley look like a tough girl from the outside, but she is very soft. Her dad died, so she has to live without the love of her dad. Her live change a lot after her dada die and they have to chnage house, but it's change even more, when she found the doll Ann Marie.

An old and small house with only two floors. Outside is a garden with a mystery black thorn bush. On the other is a baned forest where Loussia(the ghost girl) live with her aunt.

I love this novel, this is one of the best novel I've ever read. It gives me a chill in my bone but also a bit of a sad feeling for the characters. The description are very detail and the way Mary Downing Hann wrote the story just stop me from letting the book down.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Dog Days

Greg Heffley is having a horrible summer vaction while other kids enjoying there lovely summer vacation under sunshine. In Greg opinion, summer doesn't mean outside activities so he just stayed in his house and "hang out" with his video game. His mom was trying to made Greg enjoy his summer vacation with his friend Rowley, but thing didn't go out very well. There are always trouble from what ever Greg did and thinked it fun to do. Also, his two brothers are driving him crazy because of their odd action and behavior. Manny is a small guy with very strange behaviors due to his age. Rodrick, a big guy that play for his own rock band and always try to be cool.

The setting is mainly at Greg town and also some other vacation spot. Some main settings are Greg's house, Rowley beach bungalow, the public swimming pool and some kind of summer fair.

Greg is feeling sick with the man in the public swimming pool shower room when he spend his time there.This summer, Greg's family can't go to the beach because their dad didn't make a lot of money so they have to go to the water slide.

Greg didn't have a great summer vacation and there are a lot of funny things happen in his summer. Read to find out more and see if things get better at the end. :)

Diary of a Wimpy Kid (Cabin Fever)

Christmas is one of the most happy time in the year, but to Greg Heffley, there are problem to go with happy. Greg has to try his best to behave so he can get presents from Santa. Also, Greg want to throw a Christmas party but he has no money, so he has to go around the town and shovel snow. One day, there is a big snow storm in the town. Greg, Manny, Rodrick, and Mom is trapped in the house cover with snow. They are cold, hungry and tired from cleaning the melted snow(water).

Setting: A snowy during the winter and shiny during summer or spring. There are bullies in the town and also weird neighbors.
             A school filled with different cliques and people who try to be cool.

I like this graphic novel. It was very funny and interesting because it's talk about winter, the thing that I have never experienced before. I can't really relate anything to the problem they get, but I can feel how they feel from the graphic and the description the author gave.

Q: How does Shel Silverstein use exaggeration(hyperbole) to creat humour?

A: The author use hyperbole to blow humor into the poem and make the reader laugh. For example how far her pile of trash can reach from New York to the Golden Gate(which is in LA). Also, Shel Silverstein describe how the garbage broke Sarah's house. These are things that will never happen to us in real live, it can sound very weird, but it give the poem a sense of humour.

Q: Find three examples of alliteration in the poem?

A: The first example is the name of the main character Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout. They all have the "s" sound. The second one is crust of black burned buttered toast. The last one is prun pits, peach pits, orange peels. The alliteration give the poem a fun beat and also it sound very interesting while reading aloud.

Q: What is the theme of the poem? Do you think Silverstein is serious about this message or having fun? Explain your answer?

A: I think Silverstein wrote this poem for a purpose of entertainment. He make a funny poem with just a little of reminder about being clean. I think that this is a good poem for small children and also a funny reminder about being clean and throwing the trash. The author might have put a little bit of message inside it but mostly for fun and entertain. In conclusion, this is a fun sticky note about throwing away trash.

Life swap

Vicky, a single women who live a peaceful life and spend all her time working and hangout with friends.

Amber, a perfect married lady who lived in a life that everyone wanted.

They both have their one life, but there is a wish upon each person. They want to swap life with each other and enjoy the differents. They experienced a lot of changes and also secret from each other life. They also make changes to people around each other and be able to know more about how is each other friends. Vicky had knew an unexpected news from Richard (Vicky's husband) that he list his job 6 month ago but still lie to Amber.

Madam and The Rent Man

Q: The rent man and Madam seem to disagree throughout the poem. Yet, the last line is “So we agrees!” How can that be?

A: Throughout the poem, Madam and the Rent Man disagree about the rent money. The rent man force Madam to pay the rent money for the old filthy that feel like the house is "dead". At last, after a big disagree fight, they agree the fact that they disagree about ereything.

Q: 2. Infer What do you think is the message of “Madam and the Rent Man”?

A: I infer that the message of "Madam and The Rent Man" is how bad is the black people life quality. They have to pay rent money for a house that is is a big mess. The black are push into a corner by the white people until they are to tired and they have to fight back. The black people have learn how to bounce back to face agaisnt the white.


Q: 3. Analyze How does the author’s use of playful language and dialogue affect the tone of “Madam and the Rent Man”?

A: He give the poem a beat and the poem doesn't sound like a violent argument. It sound like a rap which also stand for the Harlem Renaissance(Where rap come from).
